- Manchester City to play either Liverpool or Nottingham Forest in semifinal
- Liverpool and Forest face each other on Sunday in last FA Cup quarterfinal
- Crystal Palace will face Chelsea at Wembley for a spot in the final
Manchester City will face either Liverpool or Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semifinal next month, with Chelsea taking on Crystal Palace in a London derby in the other semifinal.
City reached the FA Cup semifinal for the fifth time in six seasons under Pep Guardiola with a comfortable 4-1 win away at Southampton on Sunday afternoon, while Liverpool take on Forest at the City Ground in the last quarterfinal later today.
The draw means one between City’s dream of winning the Treble and Liverpool’s quest for an unprecedented quadruple will end next month.
Manchester City beat Southampton 4-1 on Sunday to reach the FA Cup semifinal
Jurgen Klopp’s men have already lifted a trophy at Wembley this season, beating Chelsea on penalties to win the Carabao Cup last month. The Reds, however, haven’t reached the semifinals of the FA Cup since they lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in 2015.
Chelsea, meanwhile, remained on course to lift the trophy for the second consecutive season after beating Middlesbrough 2-0 on Friday night.
The Blues will face Palace, who dismantled Everton 4-0 at Selhurst Park on Sunday and are one win away from returning to the FA Cup final for the first time since they lost 2-1 to Manchester United in 2016.
The ties will be played on April 16 and April 17, meaning City and Liverpool could face each other on consecutive weekends as they meet at the Etihad in a crucial Premier League clash on April 10.
