Manchester paedophile mother Dawn Davies jailed

Dawn Davies, 36, lured the 11-year-old to her flat before abusing him. She is pictured leaving Manchester Crown Court in Crown Square

A paedophile mother of three whose was filmed having sex with a schoolboy has been jailed for 15 years.

Dawn Davies, 36, lured the 11-year-old to her flat and then subsequently had violent intercourse with him during a ‘depraved’ two year campaign of abuse.

Manchester Crown Court heard that her partner filmed her abusing the boy, who attempted to ‘fight Davies off but she won’, and the footage was later sold on a market stall.

Davies, now of Moston, Manchester, denied 12 charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity branding the boy a liar but was convicted after he testified against her before a jury.

She showed no emotion as the judge Mr Recorder Peter Atherton said it was a ‘rare case’ – adding that the child had been abused to ‘an appalling extent.’

He said: ‘This was corruption and depravity at the expense of a vulnerable child – behaviour of extreme wickedness.

‘The story he revealed was truly shocking and the amount of distress he suffered was very concerning. He was used in images and videos which were sent round to others. They were shared and solicited.

‘The offending required much planning as you took him to a place where he was not supposed to be and involved him in things he was not supposed to be involved in.

‘You would threaten him if he rebelled against you with going to the police and you threatened him into not telling anyone.’

Police were alerted by a tip off raided the flat in Salford, Greater Manchester and found a laptop and desktop computer which was used by Davies’ partner to make searches for ‘nude teen girls’ and ‘nudist teen boys.’

A software had also been used to delete other material.

Mr Atherton added: ‘This was an extremely distressing account to hear for everyone in court, more so for the child involved.

‘He spoke courageously and was patently telling the truth.

This was corruption and depravity at the expense of a vulnerable child – behaviour of extreme wickedness

‘You subjected him to severe psychological and physical trauma, which I have no doubt will affect this young boys behaviour for the rest of his life. It was sustained and repeated assault.

‘You showed no remorse at any stage and have denied everything. You don’t seem to understand the pain you have subjected this boy to and the consequences which will follow. You threatening to send him to the police if he told anyone and you said you would make a false allegation of him breaking windows.

‘You have no real understanding of the damage you have subjected him to. I considered making your sentence longer.’

Earlier the court heard the incidents occurred between January 2012 and April 2014.

In a statement to police the boy, now 16, said he was left ‘frightened’ by his ordeal and said: ‘She was messing with me, she smacked me and she hurt me. She started laughing when she done it.

‘She used to take all my clothes off and she made me take her clothes off, and she said if I don’t she’d threaten me with police. She said if I don’t strip her clothes off she will tell the police I smashed a window in. She was trying to get me in trouble for no reason.

‘I pushed her and kicked her to get her off me but she was, like, proper on me and I couldn’t get her off. She was, like, grabbing me and pinning me on the bed and lying on me.’

He recalled how on one occasion a friend of Davies walked in on them as the pair were having sex but Davies warned her: ‘If you tell anyone I won’t be your friend.’

He said the computer was kept in the back bedroom and was used to download copies of pornographic movies adding: ‘I seen a person who looked like me on one.’

Prosecutor Henry Blackshaw said the boy had become ‘a closed book’ who didn’t trust the authorities and had been caught viewing inappropriate websites since the abuse came to light.

In mitigation defence counsel, Andrew Marrs said: ‘She had a particularly troubling upbringing. When she was 13 she met an offender and got into an unstable relationship and has been subject to domestic abuse.

‘She is vulnerable herself. She is easily manipulated especially in abusive relationships. She is susceptible to them.’

Davies was also ordered to sign the Sex Offender Register and was made subject of a of Sexual Harm Prevention Order
