- Manchester United went ahead through a brilliant Diogo Dalot strike from range
- Two quick goals from Donyell Malen before half-time turned the game around
- Antony equalised for United but Youssoufa Moukoko won it for Dortmund
Manchester United lost an entertaining friendly to Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas on Sunday night – a second straight defeat in the United States.
United took the lead in the 24th minute through a sublime strike from Diogo Dalot, curling into the top corner from outside the penalty area.
Erik ten Hag’s team looked set to enter the interval in the lead but Donyell Malen had other ideas.
He scored from close range to level the scoreline in the 43rd minute and then pounced on a mistake from Victor Lindelof to put Dortmund ahead only a minute later.
Antony equalized once again for United with a low strike seven minutes after the restart but it would be the Bundesliga team that would go on and win the game.
Youssoufa Moukoko scored the winning goal as Borussia Dortmund beat Manchester United
Diogo Dalot (centre) put United into the lead with an impressive strike from long range
But two quick goals from Donyell Malen before half-time turned the game for Dortmund
It was Youssoufa Moukoko who scored the winning goal in the 71st minute, rounding off a slick Dortmund counter attack after Aaron Wan-Bissaka lost possession.
‘There are no excuses, we have to perform no matter what and then you have to be ruthless and win games because we are Man United and the fans are expecting from us wins,’ Ten Hag said after the game.
‘I think it was a good tour but you want to finish with a good performance and you see only 60 minutes where I was pleased with but not with the goals we conceded because they were really poor.
‘The first one was really poor defending and the second one really poor in building up and that is not us.
‘We have to keep the control and you have to keep the responsibility on the ball.’
Next for United, they host French team Lyon at Old Trafford on Saturday, August 5 before a game on August 6 against Athletic Bilbao.
Their Premier League season starts a week later with the first game on August 14 at Old Trafford against Wolves.
