Manchester United and Liverpool are unlikely to follow up their interest in Denis Zakaria this month.

Juventus and Roma could now step up their bid to sign the 25-year-old, whose current deal at the Bundesliga club is set to expire at the end of the season.

With Zakaria showing no signs of putting pen to paper on a new extension, Gladbach could reportedly be ready to sell him if a suitable offer comes in, rather than lose him for nothing in June.

The cash-strapped German club could be willing to accept a £7million offer for one of the league’s most highly-rated midfielders.
