The Red Devils defeated Perth Glory 2-0 in their first match before beating Leeds United 4-0.

Wednesday’s meeting was the first between these old rivals for nearly eight years and it attracted a near sell-out crowd at the Optus Stadium.

Despite Leeds naming a strong side, it was United who ran out comfortable winners.

Mason Greenwood grabbed his first senior goal for the Red Devils to open the scoring before Marcus Rashford’s superb effort doubled their lead.

Phil Jones made it 3-0 shortly after the break before Anthony Martial sealed the win from the spot after some clever work from Tahith Chong earned a penalty.

It is only mid-July, but already there have been some encouraging signs for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s young United side.
