Manhunt underway for woman’s ex-partner after he reportedly kidnapped her following an assault

Police are looking for a man on an arrest warrant, who allegedly kidnapped his ex-partner after assaulting a man in the Lismore area. 

Missing woman, Hannah Scofield, 23, has been found safely by police. Her alleged kidnapper, Leon Edward King, 28, is still on the loose.

Mr King was last seen around two in the morning, in the East Ballina area.

On Friday, at about 11.20am, a 28-year-old man was assaulted in Rous Street Goonellabah, in the Lismore area by another male.

Hannah Scofield, 23, has been recovered safely by police overnight after desperate attempts to locate the young woman

The alleged victim was taken to Lismore hospital with head injuries and police established a crime scene.

The police have two outstanding warrants for Mr King.

Mr King has been described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Island appearance, approximately 185cm to 190cm tall, of a large build, with black hair, with a black beard and moustache.

Police wish to speak to Mr King following the alleged kidnapping and alleged assault. 

Police have urged to report any information or sightings of Mr King to Triple Zero (000) immediately. As the alleged attacker is dangerous, do not approach him police said.
