Margot Robbie says she backs Megxit and plans to invite friend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to dinner in LA

Margot Robbie has come out in support of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s plans to ‘step back’ as senior royals – and could even be welcoming them over for dinner soon.

The Hollywood star, 29, who met the Duke four years ago, said the couple ‘have their reasons’ for walking away from their HRH titles and starting a new life in Canada.

And with the couple moving to the west coast, the actress plans to invite Harry and Meghan to dinner at her home in Los Angeles.

‘I have known Prince Harry for a while and he is a really great guy. I know as much as anybody what a big decision it is to move halfway across the world,’ she told the Sun, adding that she found it difficult moving from London to LA.

‘It isn’t something taken lightly. If they are going to spend more time in LA, we would love to have dinner with them.’

The two-time Oscar nominee first met the Prince in December 2016 while at a housewarming party for model Suki Waterhouse.

But she later admitted that she had been talking to Harry ‘for half an hour’ and failed to recognise him.

‘Actually, when I saw him in those glasses, I was like, “Oh my God, I didn’t know Ed Sheeran was at the party,” and he was really offended. He was like, “Shut up!”‘ she told Fallon.

The pair do exchange texts from time to time and have since gone on to become good friends, with Margot describing Harry as ‘the most normal guy ever’.

The Sussexes were spotted together for the first time since Megxit as they stepped off a plane in Canada on Valentine’s Day.

They touched down at Victoria airport at around 4:45 pm Friday, with what appeared to be a small group of security.

The couple chose to take a commercial flight this time, having previously been slammed for preaching about saving the planet, and then flying around the world by private jet.
