Margot Robbie to co-produce a Shakespearean drama for ABC TV

She’s earned an Oscar nod for I, Tonya, which she starred in and produced.

And Margot Robbie, 27, has revealed she will co-produce a Shakespearean drama for the ABC, due to start screening later this year. 

Reported in The Daily Telegraph on Saturday, Margot is said to have teamed-up with production company Hoodlum Entertainment for the untitled project.

The award-winning production company is behind Elsa Pataky’s new Netflix series, Tidelands.

The production is set to be a modern take on William Shakespeare’s classic plays and has been adapted to TV by writer, Giula Sandler.

Starting the project with Margot is co-producer Tracey Robertson.

Tracey said the talent the Hollywood starlet brings takes the project next level. 

‘It’s early days at the moment but it’s been, just being able to work with that calibre — it opens doors, it pushes you hard,’ Tracey said. 

While Margot hasn’t publicly commented on the project as yet, she has hinted at her interest at working Down Under again.

‘Next year’s goal is to be filming something back home in Australia. That’s our goal,’ she told Stellar Magazine in January.

Margot not only starred in I, Tonya, but also produced the film alongside husband Tom Ackerley through their production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. 

The film scored three Oscar nominations earlier this year, including Margot for Best Actress and Allison Janney for Best Supporting Actress, which Allison won. 

The flick was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Achievement in Film Editing. 

Margot was also nominated for a Golden Globe, alongside other accolades.

Margot has a busy schedule ahead of her, with four movies in development, including filming her role as Sharon Tate in Quentin’s project. 

They include Suicide Squad 2, Gotham City Sirens, Birds Of Prey and an as-yet untitled Joker/Harley Quinn project.

She also has thriller Dreamland and actioner Marian, about Maid Marian after Robin Hood’s death, set up.

Margot can next be seen on screen as Queen Elizabeth I in Mary Queen Of Scots on December 7.
