Sunrise star Mark Beretta has revealed he’s in hospital after breaking his kneecap while water skiing on the Sunshine Coast.

The 51-year-old journalist and sports reporter revealed he’s in Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital – presumably after being transferred – and is awaiting surgery.

The former 10-times Australian champion of the sport said he also tore a muscle off the bone, and shared snaps of his injuries on social media.

‘Awaiting surgery. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Royal North Shore for their wonderful care. Be back on my feet soon!,’ he added.
