Eamonn Holmes was forced to apologise after Mark Hix swore on This Morning today.
The celebrated chef was discussing the impact of coronavirus on the restaurants industry as he revealed he took home just £140 in his first week of trade ‘which just about covered his train fare’ after he lost his restaurant empire and opened up a food truck.
The TV cook, who had five upmarket seafood restaurants in London, spoke to Eamonn and Ruth from his new food truck at Morcombelake by the side of the A35 in Dorset.
He sipped on a Black Cow Bloody Mary and revealed his sadness over having to shut his five restaurants and make 130 staff redundant due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Clearly upset, Mark said his initial reaction to his restaurants closing was ‘oh s**t’ forcing Eamonn to apologise for the offensive language.
‘That was one of the hardest things really, standing in front of 130 staffs telling them they’ve all lost their jobs that they won’t be furloughed and that they’re going to be made redundant instead, that was harder than the restaurants I spent 12 years building up closing.
‘I didn’t know it would be the end when we were told [by the Prime Minster] restaurants would close.
‘I had phone call from business partner, saying his senior board had made a decision to put the business into administration which I thought “oh ‘s**t'” to start with and then I thought this is going to give me a good opportunity to go out on my own and maybe buy some back from the administrators.
Eamonn quickly cut across Mark after he used the four-letter term.

‘Just before we get shut down as well, there’s some word that you can’t use of day-time television’ the veteran host said.
‘I understand this is emotional issue, so we apoligise for that’.
Mark added that as local fisherman are suffering, so he decided to sell fish directly from local boats via his food truck to the public.
‘I was sat at home ploughing through a nice bottle of wine and saw a truck on eBay, but was listed for £16,000, I got it for £8,500’ he added.

‘Doing the truck it was funny the first week, I got my old chef and and we walked away with £140 each in the first week.
Mark also added that a big reason restaurants are suffering is because landlords often up rent in busy areas, meaning chefs and owners can’t turn a profit.
‘A lot of landlords think they’re going into business with tenants, our Soho restaurant the landlord put our rent up to half a million which meant we weren’t even breaking even.

‘More and more landlords are going to end up with empty buildings, we basically work for the landlord now,’ he added.
Mark previously revealed to the Evening Standard he upped sticks and moved from London to Dorset in April, bringing his partner and daughter with him, as he was no longer needed in London.
In comes after Ruth Langsford was forced to apologise to This Morning viewers on Monday’s show when their in-studio guest swore live on air.

Katie Morley was taking calls from people who needed consumer advice, speaking to a lady called Lesley who was recounting an issue she’d been having getting a refund.
Katie’s response was: ‘Oh I’m so sorry darling, that’s s**t!’
The consumer affairs expert was quick to put a hand to her mouth as she realised her error, with Ruth, 60, swiftly stepping in and apologising to viewers for the early-morning slip.
‘I do apologise for that!’ Ruth said, as Katie mumbled ‘so sorry!’
Ruth’s co-host and husband Eamonn Holmes, 60, looked extremely unimpressed at the error, after which Katie attempted to carry on with the segment.
