Married At First Sight: Lesbians Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz split after final fight

Married At First Sight’s first-ever lesbian couple Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz split during Sunday’s commitment ceremony following three weeks of blazing rows.

They endured one last fight before finally admitting defeat, before Amanda told co-star Hayley Vernon to ‘shut the f**k up’ for offering them relationship advice.

Before leaving, Amanda then apologised for ‘not doing the gay community justice’ and thanked producers for including a sex-same relationship on the show.

It’s over! Married At First Sight’s first-ever lesbian couple Amanda Micallef (L) and Tash Herz (R) split during Sunday’s commitment ceremony following three weeks of blazing rows

As the couple first sat in front of the experts on Sunday, they began fighting.

Amanda, 34, raged: ‘Tash, you decided the day after the wedding that I wasn’t your cup and tea, and we were done. Everyone here has had issues – and do you see anyone else running for the hills?’

Hayley then interrupted Amanda, explaining that her ‘husband’ Dave initially fled her on their honeymoon, but they’ve since found happiness, saying: ‘There have been people in the same situation, don’t try and say that yours is the worst.’

Amanda responded: ‘Hayley, with all due respect, this is our f**king fight now, pipe it. I don’t want to fight with you or anyone here. This is not about you, shut the f**k up.’

Tash, 31, went on to say that she’d tried to make things work since their honeymoon.

She explained: ‘I wanted to at least try and get back to a friendship. To the best of my ability, I feel I made an effort. When we moved in together we had a fight, and I heard you say, “I don’t want to be here, I didn’t f**king come for this, we’re not compatible”.’

Tash continued: ‘Why would I then fight to live with you? It was toxic and we had to be separated. I make you miserable, and we were both miserable. You deserve love, you deserve affection and I can’t give it to you.’

The tattooed bartender later read out a heartfelt letter she’d penned for Amanda.

Tash read: ‘Amanda, I don’t think either of us could have foreseen exactly what has transpired between us over the last three weeks. I want to thank you for having a good heart, for sharing the story of your upbringing with me, for taking my hand at the wedding when I was about to melt into the ground with nerves.

‘Thank you for making the effort with my family and friends, thank you for not judging me on my past, thank you for being quiet while I spoke when I know you didn’t want to. All I want is for us to hold nothing but kindness to each other.

‘Regardless of everything, I hope you get everything that you want and deserve.’

Amanda thanked Tash for her letter, and sobbed while making one final speech.

She cried: ‘Tash, we will cross paths again and there will be no angst, I will not walk away hating you. In fact, I am eternally grateful for being a part of the experiment.

‘Unfortunately this has not been a representation of what gay relationships are really like. There are a lot of good functioning gay couples out there, and I am sorry that this did not do the gay community justice this time around.’

Tash agreed with Amanda’s words, as they then exited the show.

Married At First Sight continues Monday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
