The marine biology student fled their apartment in Sydney’s CBD in the penultimate week of production – without even saying goodbye to her ‘husband’.

She struggled across the road with two suitcases and a rucksack while hailing a taxi, before producers and a camera crew caught up with her.
Connie then spent several minutes discussing her exit on camera.
She eventually loaded her luggage into a taxi and headed straight for the airport, after three months filming in Sydney with Jonethen.

He appeared to be unaware that Connie had just left the experiment and made a panicked phone call to his producer.
After several minutes on the phone, he caught a taxi to the airport with his luggage.
The couple’s exit took place before the final vows were filmed, and it seems the producers weren’t expecting it to happen so quickly.

At Wednesday’s final commitment ceremony, Jonethen announced his decision to leave Connie for the third week in a row, prompting her to break down in tears.
A visibly shaking Connie walked outside with a box of tissues as Jonethen followed behind and urged her to breathe slowly.
After regaining her composure, Connie revealed she had made a ‘very last minute decision’ to stay in the experiment until the end, leaving Jonethen stunned.

‘I’m actually speechless, to be honest. I don’t know if I haven’t been communicating properly… I don’t even know what to say,’ he confessed.
Jonethen said he felt like he’d ‘done something wrong that could have led to this decision’, after he’d told Connie the previous night he wasn’t attracted to her.
But Connie insisted she was staying in the experiment for personal reasons because she wanted ‘to finish what [she] started’ with Jonethen.
