Married At First Sight: Why Vanessa Romito and Chris Nicholls have been ‘edited out of the show’

Married At First Sight’s Vanessa Romito and Chris Nicholls have barely appeared on the show since their wedding aired over three weeks ago.

Viewers were left baffled when the couple received just 47 seconds of air time during Sunday’s 1 hour 40 minute commitment ceremony episode.

And the real reason for their limited appearance on the show is simple – they are just too boring.

Missing! Married At First Sight’s Vanessa Romito (L) and Chris Nicholls (R) have barely appeared on the show since their wedding aired across Australia over three weeks ago

‘After their wedding they just faded into the background compared to the bigger personalities,’ a source told Daily Mail Australia.

‘There wasn’t any arguments or drama, they just took things nice and slowly while getting to know each other, which isn’t particularly interesting to watch on TV.’

A second source added that the couple’s only drama – a huge fight – happened off-camera during an 11-day production break at the start of October, but there was ‘no footage’ for producers to incorporate it into the show.

The insider added: ‘Everything was going great, filming was then halted for a week or so, and once the cameras started rolling again they couldn’t stand each other.

‘Producers couldn’t understand what had happened. There was no footage showing them fall out, and their explanations struggled to provide context for viewers.

‘It’s as if bosses just thought it’s easier to downplay their entire appearance on the show all together and edit them out as much as possible.’

Chris and Vanessa appeared to confirm they’re one of the first couples to leave the show in Instagram posts from October.

It showed they were living completely separate lives.

Despite production lasting from September to December in Sydney, on October 3 Chris shared a photo of himself holding a microwave meal, adding that he was back to eating ‘dinners for one’ in the apartment he shared with Vanessa.

Three days later, on October 6, Vanessa was out partying in Melbourne, where her maid of honour Toobi shared an Instagram post of the pair dancing in a nightclub.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

During Sunday’s commitment ceremony, the couple received just 47 seconds of air time while they sat with the relationship experts and both chose to ‘stay’.

‘I think we’re getting on quite good. I adore the guy – he’s fantastic. I think we’re working on the affection. We’re not really going to just go from none to jumping into bed. We’re getting there,’ Vanessa said.

Chris added: ‘Here we still are, motoring along. We’re letting each other in, and everything is happening the way it’s supposed to do.’
