Monday’s episode of Married At First Sight saw the couples return to their husbands’ hometowns for a visit.

But after enduring their first argument, Elizabeth Sobinoff, 29, headed to Adelaide without ‘husband’ Seb Guilhaus.

Lizzie said Seb, 30, had called her ‘unhealthy’, which triggered memories of her toxic relationship with former partner Sam Ball from last year’s season.

‘He was calling me unhealthy because I didn’t want to drink a water before the flight, because I was going to pee myself!’ she recounted in the car to the airport.

‘So he started calling me unhealthy and he said to me that I don’t eat vegetables, I only eat three things.

‘What’s it your business what I do eat and what I don’t eat? I just walked out, because I didn’t want to be pummelled, having another person tell me how I’m unhealthy.’

Lizzie said she was worried her relationship with Seb would be ‘a repeat of last year’, and said it was raising ‘some red flags’.

‘Last year, I felt like I had to constantly defend myself about my appearance… and my weight was basically mocked. That really, really hurt. I’m definitely scared it could be like the last time. Definitely,’ she explained.

‘I know you’re coming from a good place. I know there was no malice behind what you said, but you telling me that I was the most unhealthy person that you know, that did really, really upset me,’ she told him.

‘First of all, I want to say, I’m not a project. I’m not asking for you to change me in any way. I know that you’re a personal trainer, so you take that stuff very seriously, and I know you’re just looking out for me.’

She continued, telling her stony-faced partner that he was mistaken if he thought she wanted ‘to be a certain way’.

‘Last year in the experiment, I had someone who told me I had to be a certain way. I was like, “Am I not good enough the way that I am?”‘ she continued.

‘There’s no way that you would have known on that level, but I just want to be very clear about this. Comments like that actually make me feel really, really bad about myself.’

A sheepish Seb confessed he never meant to hurt Lizzie and insisted ‘everything is coming from a place of care’.
