Married At First Sight’s ‘jobless groom’ Adam Seed appeared on a UK reality show before MAFS

Married At First Sight’s ‘jobless groom’ Adam Seed appeared on a UK reality show before joining MAFS – after he was blasted by his new bride for not having a real career

Married At First Sight groom Adam Seed is no stranger to reality TV, as it has been discovered that he previously took part in a UK dating show.

Six years ago, Adam appeared on ITV’s Dinner Date where he tried to woo The Only Way Is Essex star Jasmin Walia with a menu of shrimp cocktail and feta-stuffed chicken.

The series is an amalgamation of Come Dine With Me and First Dates, and each episode follows a different singleton as they try to find love by going on multiple dates with potential matches who serve them a home-cooked meal.

Adam appeared on season seven of the dating show, and Jasmin opted to take the Australian for a second date, passing over her other three suitors.

Speaking about her on the program as he prepared her dinner, Adam said: ‘I didn’t realise she is a celebrity and she is a hot chick so hopefully something comes from this.’

The then 29-year-old was described as a construction worker and part-time barber on the UK dating show.

On Wednesday’s episode of Married At First Sight, Adam’s job became a sore subject between him and his new bride Janelle Han, 28, a beauty influencer who grew up in a strict Singaporean-Chinese family.

When she asked what he does for a living, he seemingly couldn’t give her a straight answer.

Despite the 35-year-old being billed on the show as a ‘business owner’ it’s unclear exactly what his business is, or if he has a steady income.

His official Nine bio states he only recently moved back to Australia after ‘calling London home for the past six years’, so it’s possible he hasn’t yet found his feet since returning home.

The morning after their wedding, the couple revisited the topic of Adam’s mysterious career while lying in bed together.

‘Do you have any stream of income?’ she asked him bluntly.

A fired-up Adam then later tells producers: ‘Don’t make me feel like I’ve got nothing when you don’t know me.’
