A married HSBC branded ‘Weinstein’ allegedly had an affair with one of his colleagues and had sex with another woman in his workplace toilets, his tribunal has heard.

Madeleine Luckham, 38, says Robert Clegg, 48, tried to ‘destroy’ her when she called off their relationship.

She claims that ‘HSBC and Rob in particular’ bullied, harassed and discriminated against her.

Ms Luckham, who had a £185,000 role, says that Mr Clegg rubbed himself against her and placed his hands on her hips, The Sun Online reports.

She told a hearing that her body tensed and recoiled, adding: ‘This was just one of numerous examples of unwanted touching and sexual harassment over the next few months.’

He allegedly placed his hands on top of another colleague’s legs and whispered ‘we’d have great sex’ in her ear.

Ms Luckman – who formerly headed delivery for HSBC Digital – says that Clegg leered at her chest and left her feeling worthless after they split up.

Branding his behaviour ‘sinister’, she said that a ‘pervasive culture of sexism’ forced him out of the bank.

Global head of HSBC staff digitisation Mr Clegg started a sexual relationship with Ms Luckman in October 2017.

Two months later, she ended it after she became worried about how it affect Mr Clegg’s four young children.

Ms Luckman says that she attempted to put distance between herself and him and quit in March the following year despite being on track for a new permanent role.

She told the hearing that Mr Clegg offered to secure her a salary increase and convinced her to stay.

Ms Luckman, from Teddington, south-west London, said that it was her understanding she’d start a permanent role after her contract ended in May 2018.

But she says that she was heartbroken when in April that year she heard he was ‘very handsy’ with another member of staff.

She accused him of intimating he was having sex with another colleague and ‘minimised’ their relationship, referring to it as ‘casual drunken sex’.

And she said that he clearly suggested she should leave the firm by telling her he ‘couldn’t afford to leave HSBC’.

Ms Luckman told Stratford Employment Tribunal in East London that she saw Mr Clegg enter a staff toilet and claimed he’d had sex with a woman in the room.

She said that she saw the woman knock on a cubicle door, which opened to reveal that Rob was inside.

She said that he came out 10 minutes later ‘looking all sweaty and dishevelled’ before displaying ‘the most sinister smile’ she’d ever seen.

Ms Luckman turned to a fellow team member, Kai Kartel, for support and the pair discussed Mr Clegg’s nickname ‘Weinstein’.

She claims that Mr Kartel told her Mr Clegg looks at women as prey and was called ‘Weinstein’.

Ex-producer Harvey Weinstein is currently facing prosecution in the USA of allegedly preying on Hollywood actresses.

Ms Luckman is suing Mr Clegg, from Newbury, Berkshire, and HSBC for sexual discrimination. Both parties deny the claims and the hearing continues.
