Martha Stewart roasted fellow celebrity convict Felicity Huffman’s lack of styling as the actress spends time in federal prison for her role in the college admissions scandal. 

The domestic lifestyle mogul, who served a five-month prison sentence in 2004 after being convicted of lying to federal investigators about securities violations, commented on recent paparazzi photos of Huffman wearing a prison-issued green jumpsuit during a Vanity Fair summit in Los Angeles on Tuesday.  

‘She should style her outfit a little bit more. She looked pretty schlumpy,’ Stewart said. 

The deadpan remark elicited a big laugh from the audience, fellow guest David Zaslav and moderator Brian Stetler before Stewart struck a more serious tone, adding: ‘She made a horrible mistake, and she’s experiencing what happens.’

Stewart’s comments came after Stetler mentioned that paparazzi asked her whether she had any advice for Huffman over the weekend, to which she said: ‘No.’

‘Do you think she’s learned anything?’ Stetler asked, noting the photos that showed Huffman sporting a green jumpsuit as she stepped outside to greet her husband, William H Macy, and daughter, Sophia, on Saturday’s family visiting day at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California. 

Huffman checked into FCI Dublin last week to serve a 14-day sentence after pleading guilty to paying a $15,000 bribe to inflate her daughter’s SAT scores. 

She’s already more than half-way through the sentence and is scheduled to be released on October 27. 

The minimum-security women’s prison is known to locals as ‘Club Fed’ and has a reputation as one of America’s cushiest lock-ups – but it’s still a far cry from Huffman’s sprawling Los Angeles mansion.

Stewart, who managed to rebuild her reputation after going to prison more than a decade ago, briefly opened up about her unpleasant time behind bars during a 2017 interview with Katie Couric.

‘It was horrifying, and no one – no one – should have to go through that kind of indignity, really, except for murderers, and there are a few other categories,’ Stewart said.

When asked at the time if her sentence was a ‘growth experience’, Stewart replied: ‘That you can make lemons out of lemonade? What hurts you makes you stronger? No. 

‘None of those adages fit at all. It’s a horrible experience. Nothing is good about it, nothing.’
