MasterChef: NKY and Victor BOTH undercook their chicken serving pink meat to shocked judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace

MasterChef returned for more drama in Week 2 of the cooking competition on Tuesday.

John Torode and Gregg Wallace judged the next nine contestants hoping for a place in the quarter final with a keen eye but there were some very basic mistakes made in the kitchen.

Two contestants NKY and Victor both undercooked their chicken serving pink meat to the shocked judges.

NKY, 49, a civil servant from Lagos in Nigeria was first to make the mistake as she made a spicy cajun chicken thigh with sticky rice.

But when the judges opened it up it was still pink and raw inside leaving them unable to try the dish.

In reaction one viewer penned on Twitter: ‘Why can’t people cook chicken??!!??!! #MasterChef’.

Another said: ‘More pink chicken #MasterChef #MasterChefUK.’

A third commented: ‘Time For a game Raw Chicken Roulette #MasterChef.’

In the cook off after failing to win an apron in the first round Victor’s pan-fired guinea fowl with mushrooms and fondant potatoes was pink in the middle too.

One viewer said in reaction to the moment: ‘You know you’ve messed up on #Masterchef when the thing they praise is your potato…’

Another said: ‘Quite an achievement to cook legs of a bird thoroughly, but undercook the breast. But I said he was toast earlier. #MasterChef’

Both NKY and Victor, a 62-year-old IT consultant, were sent home at the end of the eventful episode.

Since it was revived in 2005, Masterchef has been judged by John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
