Poh Ling Yeow continued to receive the most MasterChef airtime on Tuesday night.

The 47-year-old once again pushed the boundaries of the challenge, prompting a continued backlash from viewers who have renamed it ‘The Poh Show’. 

Since the Back To Win season premiered on April 13, many fans have vented their frustration over Poh’s endless camera time, forcing her to now respond.

In an Instagram post discussing her latest dish on Tuesday, the star vented: ‘To answer those who ask why I keep pushing it with my time limits? Simple. 

‘It’s why I came back on the show – to see what’s possible.’

She included a sassy emoji of a woman shrugging next to the hashtag ‘baker’ – showing she isn’t taking the criticism lightly and strives to push herself.

During Tuesday’s episode, Poh was slammed for again giving herself a recipe that was barely possible in the allocated time, finishing with seconds to spare.  

As the cameras mostly focussed on her, she managed to pull off her Stout Beef Pie with Blue Cheese Crust in the nick of time, with the judges praising it. 

However, it led to a very mixed respond across social media platforms, with one viewer tweeting: ‘Time for another episode of “Poh Stares at the Oven”.’

‘Unpopular opinion – I am over Poh. Obviously she’s the judges and producers fave, but dial back on the crappy time management drama every single cook,’ wrote another fan to Twitter.

‘Seriously over Poh whinging about how she’s pushed for time, does it every night. either choose something easier or stop going on about it,’ said a third fan.

A fourth unimpressed viewer penned: ‘The countdown is on to the POH show.  Way too much air time for my liking.’

However, there was just as much praise for Poh and her pie, with many fans insisting it is added to Uber Eats immediately so they can order a slice at home.

Former MasterChef star Derek Lau, who starred on the show in 2019, came to Poh’s defence during an interview with HuffPost Australia on Tuesday.

‘I don’t actually understand why people don’t like Poh. She is herself on the screen as she is in real life,’ he told the publication.
