Viewers have vented their frustrations at MasterChef Australia as grand final contestants Sashi Cheliah and Ben Borsht made the same dishes yet again.

Ben, 31, known for plating up seafood all through the season, chose a crab dish followed by a simple battered fish.

Staying safe: Viewers have vented their frustrations at MasterChef Australia as grand final contestants Sashi Cheliah and Ben Borsht made the same dishes yet again

Sashi, 39, a master at curries, chose to make a sambal prawn and fish curry.

Neither man went out of their comfort zone and audiences weren’t having it, with many complaining the dishes were too safe simple for a grand finale.

The repetitive nature of the dishes served up week after week irked viewers also, with many taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

One irate person Tweeted: ‘It’s beyond ridiculous and embarrassing that these two contestants are once again cooking a curry and seafood. It’s the Grand Final FFS’.

Others called for a rule change, with one viewer Tweeting: ‘New rule for next year. When you make the top 10, you get a maximum of 3 cooks with any particular ‘type’ of protein (ie seafood, chicken, lamb etc).

‘So if you want to use up all 3 on fish early on, go for it, but then you can never cook with fish again.’

Some were unimpressed by the dishes themselves, calling Ben’s starter of crab a ‘dip’ and likening his battered fish and peas to frozen food.

One viewer wrote: ‘I am speechless! Frozen looking Birdseye fish with some peas & puree for a final! Lmfao I’m embarrassed for him’.

Another fan Tweeted: ‘This is really embarrassing for Ben. Serving up fish and peas in the grand finale… Seriously… I don’t think anyone would serve that up as their audition dish’.
