MasterChef contestant Linda Dalrymple made a bold move that won fans over during an immunity challenge on Thursday. 

The 38-year-old home cook created a French Earl Grey tea ice-cream in a challenge set by renowned chef Heston Blumenthal.

To create the sweet treat, she chose to take a leaf of the creative chef’s cookbook by experimenting with liquid nitrogen for the first time – and fans were living for it.

Fans flocked to Twitter to share their excitement for the mother-of-two as she tried the unconventional ice cream making technique. 

‘Linda just squealing “I can’t see” while pouring more liquid nitrogen in is PERFECTION,’ wrote one viewer.

‘Linda is turning the entire kitchen into a liquid nitrogen dish!’ quipped another. 

The official MasterChef Twitter account posted: ‘Linda nailed it!’ along with a GIF showing her fanning the smoke.

Other fans loved Linda’s go-getter approach to the cook.

Unfortunately, the flavour in Linda’s earl grey ice cream was too strong for the judges who awarded immunity to Pete Campbell for his bacon and egg ice-cream.

This year’s Superstar Week has so far hosted an international bevy of renown chefs, including Yotam Ottolenghi and Nigella Lawson, who have all appeared via video on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.
