Masterchef Australia star Reynold Poernomo has teamed up with Ferrero Rocher to create two irresistible limited edition Christmas desserts.  

The 27-year old dessert whizz has crafted a Ferrero Rocher ‘Bell’ with a spiced raisin caramel filling inside a layer of luxurious dark chocolate mousse and topped with chocolate feathers and a Ferrero Rocher.  

He also made a Ferrero Rocher ‘Bauble’ which is a delicate choux pastry ball filled with heavenly dark chocolate whipped ganache and finished with the much-loved hazelnut treat.

The ‘Bell’ will be available in store and for click and collect for a limited time at Reynold’s KOI Dessert Bar in Chippendale and KOI Dessert Kitchen in Ryde from December 1.  

It will also feature at KOI’s pop-up dessert bars at the Darling Harbour Christmas Festival and Bastille Festival in Circular Quay. 

While Reynold is known for his elaborate and complicated desserts, he made the Ferrero bauble treat with home cooks in mind. 

Both recipes will be available at the Ferrero Rocher website so anyone can add the heavenly treats to their Christmas table this year.

Additionally the Chippendale and Ryde KOI locations will offer two Ferrero Rocher-inspired variations of Reynold’s best-selling Celebration Cakes for preorder throughout December from the KOI website. 

Back in October the Masterchef dessert king opened a third location of his renowned dessert restaurant chain. 

KOI Pastry Bar at Darling Square launched in Sydney on Friday October 30, and offers foodies intricate sweet and savoury treats – including caramelised almond with poached pear tarts and wagyu beef pies with red wine jus. 

Diners can expect to find indulgent desserts, gourmet pastries and exquisite cakes.

The menu will change every week, depending on what customers like – and the items will stay around longer if there’s a huge demand.

The kitchen will also offer ‘Pastry Drops’, which are special flash creations available for one day only. 

Other menu items include chicken with onion and mushroom pies, potato prosciutto with béchamel and Gruyere pies, freshly baked cookies, and the store’s signature pastries like croissants, pain au chocolat and canelé.
