Matt Lauer and new girlfriend Shamin Abas are all smiles as they’re spotted together in the Hamptons

Matt Lauer and his new girlfriend Shamin Abas appeared to be all smiles as the duo were spotted attending a car show together in the Hamptons, New York, over the weekend.

The former Today Show host was seen stepping out of a flashy white Ferrari on Sunday afternoon, having just taken it for a test spin in Sag Harbor.

Lauer even brought his 19-year-old son Jack along for the ride, as Public Relations executive Abas took pictures of the father-son duo as they posed for photos inside a number of sports cars.

The disgraced anchor sported a casual ensemble of a blue long-sleeve polo shirt, white jeans and pair of designer sunglasses.

Abas too donned a relaxed look consisting of a white tank top, white jeans and a cream blazer, with a printed scarf draped around her neck which she fashioned into a makeshift face mask.

The lovebirds reportedly began dating in January after Lauer, 62, finalized his divorce from wife of 20-years Annette Roque.

The lovebirds reportedly began dating in January after Lauer, 62, finalized his divorce from wife of 20-years Annette Roque.

Roque – who shared three children with Lauer; Jack, 19; Romy 16; and Thijs, 13 – filed the motion months after Lauer was ousted from the Today Show in November 2017 amid numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.

PageSix reported last June that Lauer agreed to give Roque a $20 million settlement and was ‘bending over backward’ to appease her due to his guilt

In the months that followed, Lauer and Abas, who have been friends for nearly a decade, reportedly began spending a lot of time together in the Hamptons before making things official.

They were first spotted together on December 31 catching a flight from New Jersey to New Zealand to spend a romantic week away at the $9.2 million ranch Lauer owns there.

A source told In Touch at the time that Lauer had been ‘on the prowl’ for a girlfriend in the wake of his split from Roque.

‘[Shamin] knows who he is,’ the source said, adding that she Welsh native is a ‘lovely woman’ and ‘thrilled’ to be finally dating Lauer.

‘For everything he may have done, Matt’s very charming. I can see how Shamin fell for him,’ the source said.

On Saturday evening, the pair were also spotted taking a ride on his $1.4 million yacht, named Resilient, out in Orient, NY, a picturesque town situated at the end of the northern fork of Long Island.

The pair disembarked to diner at Duryea’s Orient Point, and shared conversation over a large vegetable platter, TMZ reported.

Lauer’s firing from the Today Show came after he was accused of sexually harassing intern Brooke Nevils during the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, back in 2014.

The allegation was made in Ronan Farrow’s book Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators. A number of other women also came forward to make similar complaints.

In October, Lauer opened up about his sexual misconduct scandal, revealing he kept quiet about it because he ‘got what he deserved’ but now wants to speak out after he was accused of sexual assault.

Lauer sat down for an off the record interview with conservative radio show host and Medlite senior columnist John Ziegler, where he admitted ‘to making numerous serious mistakes.’

‘It appears he was silent after his firing because he felt he got what he deserved, but now that he has been publicly accused of sexual assault, finds himself in a completely different situation,’ Ziegler said on their conversation.

He revealed at the time Lauer wanted to speak out – but hasn’t figured out ‘the best manner or timing’ to do it and fears being vilified by the press, particularly after Farrow’s book.

Lauer did eventually break his silence after Nevils’ rape allegation was released last year by issuing an angry denial that he anally raped her, claiming that they had consensual sex that led to a three-month affair in a sharp three-page, 1,400 word response.

In his statement he went into graphic detail about their interactions, calling her a ‘willing partner.’

‘It is categorically false, ignores the facts, and defies common sense,’ he said of the rape allegation.

He then issued another public statement about the allegations in May in an op-ed for Mediate where he slammed Nevils for ‘false’ claims and labeled Farrow, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who covered her story, as ‘manipulative’.

Lauer angrily questioned Farrow’s reporting abilities and accused him of ‘shoddy journalism’ for the way he described Nevils’ story in his book Catch and Kill.

‘From start to finish Ronan is acting as Brooke’s advocate, not as a journalist investigating her claims,’ Lauer wrote.

He said Farrow broke ‘the cardinal rule of journalism’ by ‘coming to a self-serving conclusion first, and then he sees everything through the prism of that assumption’.

The piece came following a New York Times article which asked: ‘Is Ronan Farrow Too Good to Be True?’ Reporter Ben Smith looked into Farrow’s reporting techniques during his investigations into Harvey Weinstein.

Fueled by Smith’s analysis, Lauer wrote: ‘I believe Ronan knew his work on Catch and Kill would receive little in the way of scrutiny, from the very beginning.

‘It’s the only way to explain why he was so willing to abandon common sense and true fact checking in favor of salacious, and deeply flawed, material.

‘I also believe that some of Ronan’s sources felt they could make outrageous claims to him, knowing he (and thus their stories) would not be doubted.’

Lauer added that he was ‘shaken, but not surprised, that few in the media were willing to thoroughly challenge the accusations against me, or the person making them.

‘The rush to judgment was swift. In fact, on the morning I was falsely accused of rape, and before I could even issue a statement, some journalists were already calling my accuser “brave” and “courageous”.

‘While the presumption of innocence is only guaranteed in a court of law, I felt journalists should have, at the very least, recognized and considered it.’

Following the publication of the op-ed Farrow tweeted: ‘All I’ll say on this is that Matt Lauer is just wrong. Catch and Kill was thoroughly reported and fact-checked, including with Matt Lauer himself.’
