Turner has a long-term contract with the Gunners, which will see him fighting Aaron Ramsdale for the starting role.

He has 18 caps with the American national team, including playing all six matches as the USA went on to become 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup winners.

And Arsenal fans declared their love for him last week when it was reported by Sportsmail that he refused to sign a Tottenham fan’s shirt after his final New England Revolution appearance.

Turner becomes Arsenal’s third signing during this transfer window, following winger Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, who signed for an undisclosed fee, and midfielder Fabio Vieira, who joined from Porto for £29.9m.
