Bachelor Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson has the hair, the smile and the abs but this festive season he might have proved himself more of a dreamboat than we first thought.
On Christmas Day, he upped the ante for boyfriends everywhere, presenting girlfriend Laura Byrne, 31, with a personalised book detailing the couple’s love story together.
In a video posted to her Instagram Story, Laura pawed through her sentimental Christmas gift, which was engraved with the words,’Mattaura, Est May 23rd 2017,’ and featured a collection of handwritten stories and photos of the pair since they began dating.

The brunette beauty is surrounded by family in the video, who can be overheard fawning, ‘Oh wow … That’s awesome,’ as Laura excitedly unwraps her gift, dressed in a black-and-white checkered dress.
This is a first Christmas for the couple, who are spending it with Laura’s family in the NSW South Coast town of Berry.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph this weekend, the duo admitted that their fairytale made-on-TV wasn’t always roses, with Laura admitting being in a house with 14 other women competing for Matt made her insecure and anxious.
‘Matt gave me no indication it was me [he would be choosing],’ Laura said of her time in the Bachelor mansion.

‘Normally, in real life, if you’re pouring your heart out to someone they will give you an indication as to whether it’s mutual,’ she said.
‘I didn’t know whether I was wasting my time, whether I was making things up in my own head, reading into things too much — I had no reassurance at all.’
Laura added it was difficult in the Bachelor household with so many other people living under one roof, explaining that the lack of personal space in a house shared with 14 other women could be confronting.

Laura also said the stress of keeping their relationship a secret before the finale screened also made things difficult.
The bronzed brunette added she couldn’t stick to her normal exercise regime, with the contestants forced to give up a lot of ‘freedoms,’ to be on the show.
However, it all seems to be worth it for the pair, who seem to have found something real together, with hunky Matt J saying Laura is the one that he wants.
‘I wanted to go on the show to meet someone who I thought I could spend the rest of my life with and I’ve found that, so it’s just nice to be able to enjoy what we’ve got,’ Matty told the publication.
