Mauricio Pochettino faces ‘make-or-break’ game against West Ham

Mauricio Pochettino faces ‘make-or-break’ game against West Ham as under-fire Tottenham boss faces sack if he fails to turn around form

  • Tottenham are 14th in the Premier League – with just three wins from 12 games
  • Reports claim Mauricio Pochettino could be sacked if Spurs fail to win next week
  • Pochettino says he needs time to rebuild last season’s European finalists

Mauricio Pochettino is in danger of losing his job next weekend if he fails to get a result at West Ham.

Pochettino’s side are languishing in 14th spot – with last year’s Champions League finalists winning just three of their opening 12 Premier League games.

And Pochettino could pay for his side’s poor league form with reports suggesting chairman Daniel Levy could fire the Argentine unless he gets a positive result next Saturday.

The Daily Telegraph suggest Tottenham’s game at the London Stadium is ‘make or break’ with Spurs going into the game just one point ahead of capital rivals West Ham.

The odds appear to be stacked against Spurs coming away from east London with all three points as their last away win in the Premier League came in January.

Pochettino has said it will take time to rebuild Tottenham but he may not be afforded it as Levy is growing impatient with his manager.

Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are all out of contract in the summer while Danny Rose believes he’s being forced out.
