Mauricio Pochettino tells Tottenham players to move on and focus on ‘two finals’ following ‘crazy’ meltdown at Bournemouth

Mauricio Pochettino urged his Tottenham players to move on and focus on their ‘two finals’ after their ‘crazy, mad’ meltdown at Bournemouth.

Spurs finished with nine men as they suffered a fifth defeat in sixth ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg at Ajax.

Heung-Min Son, back in the team after suspension, and Juan Foyth, just 135 seconds after coming on, both saw red at the Vitality Stadium.

Spurs blew their chance to seal their top four finish by losing to Bournemouth in the Premier League for the first time though defeats for Arsenal and Manchester United will see Pochettino’s side across the line.

Pochettino said: ‘That is cruel after fighting for all the second half with nine players.

‘It is painful to play with two players [sent off] but we cannot change the decisions.

‘We have ahead two finals – the semi-final against Ajax and at the weekend against Everton. It is in our hands.

‘It was a crazy game. Mad game. But now it’s wasting time in analysing too much.

‘The most important thing now is to move on.’
