McDonald’s has delighted nostalgic Australians with the new launch of a Birthday McFlurry

‘Our new McFlurry flavour was inspired by iconic Aussie birthday party favourites to create a nostalgic and delicious dessert that will put everyone in the birthday spirit,’ Amanda Nakad, McDonald’s Australia marketing manager, said.

‘New McFlurry flavours are always a hit with our customers, so we thought this would be a delicious way to continue our 50-year celebrations.

‘In response to strong customer demand, we will also be reintroducing a much-loved and highly requested crowd favourite, the Custard Pie, giving Aussies even more reason to celebrate our 50-year milestone.’

The launch of the Birthday McFlurry and return of the Custard Pie are the latest announcements from Macca’s 50 birthday celebrations in Australia.

From June until the end of August, customers will be given countless reasons to celebrate with a range of collaborations, promotions and new menu items.

The new launch comes just days after the fast food chain quietly launched a new TimTam McFlurry flavour – complete with a creamy vanilla soft-serve, caramel swirls and chocolate biscuit crumbs.

Food blogger Adrian Widjonarko, from Sydney, discovered the $4 secret menu item called ‘Choc Slam’ McFlurry via the MyMacca’s app.

‘It is basically a TimTam McFlurry but they are calling it ‘Choc Slam’ in their system! Chocolate biscuits crumbs and caramel swirl sauce,’ he said.

‘You must try this! Seriously so good! I want more now. You must give this a go.’

Adrian made a ‘public service announcement’ in his now-viral TikTok video after he got to taste the new limited edition dessert.

After ordering the ice cream through the app, he picked it up at the Kingsford store in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.

But Adrian quickly pointed out the McFlurry flavour is only sold at selected stores across New South Wales.

A McDonald’s Australia spokeswoman confirmed the Choc Slam McFlurry is available at Fairy Meadow, Haberfield, Kingsford, Milperra, Mt Colah and Wyong.

‘McDonald’s is currently trialling the Choc Slam McFlurry in six NSW restaurants. The trial will run until Thursday, July 8, or while stocks last,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘We are always listening to our customer’s feedback and considering great ideas for the future.’
