McDonald’s restaurants could shut their doors because coronavirus lockdowns are causing a shortage of ingredients needed to make popular burgers such as their Big Mac and McChicken. 

The fast food giant told New Zealand customers on Wednesday it was having trouble sourcing lettuce because their suppliers could not keep up with demand. 

Individual stores have also announced their suppliers have limited stock of various ingredients because of lockdowns and certain menu items would be unavailable.
