Mechanic takes client’s custom 1986 Commodore VL for a spin but crashes the $150k vehicle into three parked cars

A car lover is furious after their prized custom Holden was crashed by a mechanic who took it for a spin when it was dropped it in for a service.
The bonnet of rare 1986 Commodore VL, understood to be worth $150,000 with modifications, was completely smashed in when it hit three parked cars.
The crash occurred early on Friday just outside the workshop in Ormeau on the Gold Coast, with the mechanic reportedly behind the wheel when he lost control of the car.

Police were called to the street and are investigating how the fender bender happened
The owner of one of the parked cars, Rob Sardinha, said he was fortunate his car only had minor damage.
‘Not a good way to start a Friday morning but it is what it is,’ he told 7News.
‘I fix cars so if accidents didn’t happen I wouldn’t have a job,’ he added.
Pictures of the damaged car were shared online sparking dozens of comments.
‘That’s heartbreaking for the owner,’ one person said.
‘The chassis is scrap but take everything out get a new shell and a bit of paint and she’ll be on the road next week,’ another said.
‘Hope the driver is okay,’ added a third.
Police were called and are investigating how the crash happened.
It’s understood no charges have been laid at this stage.
