Mr Gordon was selected for his ‘absolute confidence in his ability’ and ‘readiness to put his insatiable appetite to the test’.

Although he is thrilled with the job offer, it will be no easy task.

Commencing in his hometown of Sydney, Mr Gordon will begin on Monday at Cantina Mexican where he will tackle a burrito weighing in at more than a kilogram.

He will be expected to devour the meat, salad and jalapeno filled burrito in a Mexican food stand off before heading to Melbourne the following day and taking on the daunting burger task at Misty’s Diner.

Featuring five burger patties, five slices of cheese, five slices of bacon, three buns and a whole lot of fries, this burger is not for the faint hearted.

I take to the gym more than the average bloke to make sure I can eat insane amounts of food.

Mr Gordon will then have one day off before flying to Slice Pizza in Brisbane, Queensland where he will have 30 minutes to consume a 60cm, 36 slice pizza with his choice of toppings.

Just 10 others have completed this food challenge in the past six years.

Mr Gordon will then head to Perth where he will take on a spicy green curry at Thailicious.

This menu favourite has been supercharged with double chili and double the green curry paste for Mr Gordon to enjoy.

Finally in Adelaide he will have 45 minutes to consume a one kilogram chicken schnitzel with side of chips plus litre of beer, for the illustrious honour of making it to Schnithouse’s wall of fame.

Mr Gordon will be live streaming each challenge across social media and he believes he has what it takes to complete each one.

‘I’m definitely the best person for it – I watch Man vs Food religiously and take to the gym more than the average bloke to make sure I can eat insane amounts of food in one sitting,’ he said.

‘Eating food is what I’m good at – simple as that! I’ve tackled many colossal dinner plates but but I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this challenge. I’m particularly worried about the 36 slices of pizza, that’ll be tough.’
