Meet Bollywood’s young playback singers

Singers speak what cannot be expressed and then there are some young singers who soothe the mind and gives rest to the heart and makes it whole flows from heaven to the soul. In India, it’s a big universe of music out there and playback singing in Bollywood is most Indian singer’s dream.

In past years, we saw numerous young artists make this dream true in the Bollywood industry and when they got a chance to sing in films they made the audience crazy in their own melodious ways. Here are some of those singers, with their own different journeys, who stood on the ground and entertained us.

Tony Kakkar

Energetic and versatile are the two words that describe Tony Kakkar. Music runs in his blood, and he learned singing from his elder sisters Sonu Kakkar and Neha Kakkar who are very well known in the music industry. Tony Kakkar age is 37 and within this limited time, he earned millions of fans because of all the energy and fun-filled playlist he has given us.

From singing in Bhajan and Kirtans to one of the best singers in the Indian music industry, Tony’s journey inspired a lot of new upcoming young artists. Now, he is quite popular for his songs and rocking lyrics. He made crazy his fans with songs like “Coca Cola Tu,” “Dheeme Dheeme,” “Mile Ho Tum”, “Bijli Ki Taar” “Naagin Jaisi Kamar Hilla ” “Goa Beach” “Kurta Pajama”. With his unique songs, he has been raising the temperature on the Bollywood music charts.

Darshan Raval

The Young and Emerging Singing Sensation, Darshan Raval age was just 20 when he rose to prominence after participating in the singing reality show “India’s Raw Star” in 2014.  He gained immense popularity through “Meri Pelhi Mohabbat”, which took him one step further in achieving his dreams. This young playback singer is a big hit machine with songs like “Tera Zikr”, “Bekhudi”, “Kabhi jo badal barse”, “Jeena Jeena”, “Hawa Banke” and many more. This multitalented singer can sing well in both Hindi and Gujarati language.

His song in Salman khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo granted him his first bout mainstream attention and put him on the path to fame. Now, his all songs whether it is independent or Bollywood song proves to be a big hit.

Shirley Setia

“Bollywood’s Next Big Singing Sensation”, Shirley Setia rose to prominence after she won the competition of singing the cover of the Hindi song, Tum Hi Ho. She was classified as “The Pajama Popstar” as she recorded that song while wearing pyjamas. She used to posting homemade videos on YouTube and earned a lot of views on all her YouTube uploads.

At such a young age, she had all of us get mesmerized by her beautiful voice and charming smile. She is a much-loved performer who has a long way to go and had made a name for herself that too in a few years. She always steals hearts be it in singing or in cuteness and become the national crush of boys just by singing songs.

Siddharth Mahadevan

It was very challenging for Siddharth for being a son of such a great musician and singer ‘Shankar Mahadevan’ as people had a lot of expectations from him when he entered the music industry but he stood up to all those expectations.

He set his foot strong in the music industry after he lent his voice for songs like “Zinda” from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag,  and “Malang” from Dhoom 3 and both of songs were a big hit. He sang and composed some of the best songs of the era.

He gained love and respect from the fans as well as the music industry. His voice captivates our hearts and music captures our souls. He released the rock version of the title track “Zinda” in “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” in 2013 which was a big hit.

Armaan Malik

He has been known as a romantic singer in India because of his first romantic hit. But he has a capability and tendency to sing in all genres. We hear a new Armaan Malik with his every new release. He is the gem of the industry whose songs rule the playlist of this generation.

His recent song ‘Buttabomma’ is the most ‘viral song of the decade’ in Telugu which proved music has no language barrier for Armaan Malik. He can sing songs in Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, English, and Marathi with clear Enunciation.

Currently, he’s building his parallel international Pop music brand and went on to become the first Bollywood singer who made it to the international charts with his single release, ‘Control’.  He did a commendable job with his brother, in the entire album of “MS Dhoni- The Untold Story” and the album was proven to be a big hit. He is the youngest recipient of the RD Burman New Music Talent Award.
