In one of her recent posts, Shari films herself trying fast-food restaurant In-N-Out for the first time, as she tucks into a Double Double Animal Style burger complete with homemade fry sauce, caramelized onions and a mustard grilled patty.

She washes it down with a large cup of Lemon Up – the fast food restaurant’s special blend of pink lemonade and 7Up – which she deems ‘very electric’ and ‘very sparkly.’

Some of Shari’s other TikTok pitstops have included Wingstop, where she ate boneless wings with half Louisiana rub and half hot honey, and Chipotle which saw her try the steak quesadilla with fajita vegetables.

Offering her verdict, she says: ‘This is so good, the corn is like sweet, buttery, the parmesan cheese.

‘I wouldn’t be mad if there was more of the chipotle lime mayo on there – just personal preference – but home run, definitely delicious.’

In a bid to maximize her TikTok earnings, Mandy can be seen promoting products in some of her clips, with discount codes on offer to viewers.

Creator Dao (@daostp) also loves to eat in his car.

The TikToker’s account mainly shows him stationary behind the wheel as he chows down.

One of his favorite eateries appears to be Wingstop, and numerous clips showing him tucking into portions of wings.

In one video he tells viewers, as he munches on the outlet’s popular Cajun fries: ‘I don’t think you can ever have enough Wingstop.’

Texas-headquartered Wingstop appears to be a hugely popular spot among TikTokers, with morsels from the diner garnering millions of likes.

Self-proclaimed food-lover Crystal Lara (@crystalxlaraa) is mainly seen rustling up meals at home but one of her most-watched clips sees her eating wings from Wingstop from the comfort of her car.

In the 58-seond-long clip, which has more than 2.6 million views, she does not say a single word.

To start with she shows viewers her fries before turning the camera on herself as she eats the wings.

In a later TikTok, Crystal filmed herself eating an apple with peanut butter on in the car and joked ‘I just want to see if eating healthy on camera will go viral.’

Proving her point – that fast food items gain the most traction – her ‘healthy eating’ TikTok only garnered just over 6,000 views.

How to grow your following on TikTok

These are top tips to growing your TikTok account:

Understand your audience: You need to begin by asking why people would want to follow you. What do you offer that thousands of other accounts don’t?

Perfect your profile: Your profile needs to highlight your identity as a creator. It needs to show your intended audience why they should subscribe to your page. The type of videos you intend to share should be obvious to anybody looking at your profile.

Follow the basic rules and conventions: You need to ensure you don’t breach TikTok’s content guidelines. There should be nothing inappropriate in your videos; no hate speech, racism, etc. Also, like Snapchat and IGTV, the convention on TikTok is to upload vertical videos. The ideal aspect ratio is 1080×1920.

Produce consistent content: You will want to set up a consistent pattern so that your audience knows what to expect. Ideally, you want all your niche-themed videos to have the same look and feel about them too.

Engage with your audience: Don’t forget to interact with your viewers. Make sure that you reply to comments that people leave on your videos. It may seem like hard work, but it makes your followers believe you care and take notice of them.

Promote your TikTok videos on other social channels: Promote your videos on your other social channels, and your blog, too, if you have one. The more people who know about your content, the more will watch and like it.
