Megan Betts’ mother clutches photo that INCLUDES her Dayton, Ohio killer son Connor at the funeral

The funeral has been held for Megan Betts, the sister of Dayton shooter, Connor, and one of his first victims in the so-far motiveless massacre.

Exclusive pictures obtained by DailyMail.com show that close to one hundred friends and family – including parents Moira and Stephen Betts – attended the service held at Conner & Koch funeral home in their hometown of Bellbrook, Ohio.

Last week DailyMail.com revealed that the funerals of Megan and her 24-year-old brother were to be held across separate days to avoid conflict for the many who wished to attend her service but not that of the killer.

Megan was one of nine murdered by Connor Betts in a mass shooting in Dayton’s Oregon District in the early hours of Sunday August 4.

Megan’s mother, Moira, arrived shortly after two o’clock on Saturday afternoon. She carried a plastic bag that contained a small white teddy bear and what appeared to be two sharpie pens.

At one point she cradled the toy, an apparent memento of her daughter’s childhood as she and husband, Stephen, entered the funeral home ahead of other mourners. He clutched a pair of black ballet-shoe pumps.

Orders of service paid glowing tribute to Megan ‘Baby Chica’ Betts. The formal ceremony lasted more than three hours.

Last week the family was forced to remove an online obituary to their son after it was first revealed by DailyMail.com.

The extraordinary tribute was published alongside one to Megan on the funeral home’s website and did not mention the fact that he had killed so many and injured so many more, or that he himself was shot by cops responding to the horrific scene.

Instead Betts was described as ‘a funny, articulate, intelligent man with a kind smile,’ who had ‘passed on Sunday 4th August.’

Similarly a tribute to Megan – which remains on the website – fails to mention that she had met her end at her brother’s hands.

The killer’s obituary was deleted early Wednesday and replace with an apology, recognizing that the wording was ‘insensitive in not acknowledging the terrible tragedy he created.’

‘In their grief,’ the apology continued, the family  had, ‘presented the son that they knew’.

Megan’s aunt, Alice, traveled from her home in North Carolina to support her brother and sister-in-law.

According to one family source who spoke to DailyMail.com last week, the devastating events are all the more incomprehensible because the entire family – Moira, Stephen, Connor and Megan – had only recently returned from a seemingly happy family vacation in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
