Megan McKenna suffered a social media gaffe on Tuesday when she went to throw her support behind Marie Curie Cancer Care – yet tagged a magazine instead. 

The kind-hearted star, 25, was raising awareness for the charity yet in the comment penned: ‘Always supporting @marieclaireuk The most amazing palliative care team. Me and my family can’t thank you enough’ – tagging the fashion magazine.

Fans soon swarmed the comment section to note the gaffe as many of her 2million followers urged her to correct the comment while others branded the mistake ’embarrassing’ within just minutes of posting.

Having left TOWIE to pursue her country music career, Megan stood beside a microphone while beaming into the camera in the post. 

While her intentions were clearly kind, her mistake was instantly picked up by her plethora of eagle-eyed followers who had mixed reactions to the post. 

Users penned: ‘Wow supporting a cause that u don’t even know the name of!… Not mean @mariecurieuk… You mean marie curie??… Think you mean Marie Curie…

While her tag was incorrect on Instagram she was more fortunate on Twitter as she posted a near-identical post but wrote the right tag on the microblogging site.

After 27 minutes on the page, Megan changed the tag – undoubtedly thanks to her the assistance of her fans and their eagle-eyes. 

Soon after she changed the comment, the charity clearly noted the tag, as they penned: ‘Thank you so much for your support Megan!’

Clear to see many always have her back, her post was also met on Twitter with fans who penned: ‘you’re the best’.
