The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have promoted three more charities to celebrate International Youth Day – including a female empowerment group that wants to #smashthepatriarchy.
Only last week the royal couple posted a grid representing 15 charity accounts their Instagram now follows, such as children’s heart charity Tiny Tickers.
Now the royal couple have suggested three activist and community initiatives to follow on their Instagram account that has 9.3 million followers.
An accompanying message says that as the President and Vice-President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, they want to ‘shine a light’ on young leaders ‘who are doing amazing things’
These include GirlDreamer, based in Birmingham, and founded by Amna Akhtar and Kiran Kaur to ’empower a future generation of women of colour.’

Meghan Markle is known for her strong stance on feminism and dedication to the fight for gender equality, so backing the charity seems a choice not out of place with her beliefs.
On the website the aim of the organisation says: ‘GirlDreamer is an empowerment platform providing personal and professional development opportunities for women of colour to create better access and representation across all areas of society.’
Their Instagram regularly posts a number of inspirational quotes such as ‘Sisters are doing it for themselves’ and ‘Matriarch over Patriarch.’
With accompanying hashtags such as #smashthepatriarchy, #girlpower and #bossquotes.
The couple are known to be passionate about the environment as well, with Prince Harry only recently saying they will limit themselves to two children to help battle climate change.

The recycling charity provides an environmentally positive impact, as well as employment opportunities for, by paying local people to collect plastic waste, which is then deposited at local stations.
The third charity also hits to the heart of the couple’s passion for the environmental and affecting change.
It is called the Green Generation Initiative and was founded by Liz Wathuti, 23, from Kenya.
It is a community-based initiative started by the young green entrepreneur in 2016 and involves going to school to teach children about being environmental conscious.
So far it has taught more than 10,000 schoolchildren and planted 20,000 tree seedlings.
