As well as planning the wedding of the year, Meghan Markle is busily preparing for life as a working royal – so it’s no surprise that the bride-to-be has some New Year’s resolutions to help her slide seamlessly into her new official role.
Writing on her now defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, in 2016, the former Suits star revealed that she makes the same resolutions every year, including becoming more ‘ladylike’.
Listing her intentions, the 36-year-old wrote: ‘Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year.
‘The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks.
‘And when it comes to the biting of the nails – well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day.
‘It’s unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit.’

Harry’s fiancée said she also wanted to rekindle her study of French, which she’d learned at school, and run a marathon.
In April this year, Meghan sparked engagement rumours when she shut down her lifestyle blog, which began as a ‘passion project’.
‘After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig,’ she wrote.
‘What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.

The star went on to thank her followers and contributors for their ongoing support since she started the blog in 2014.
‘You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy,’ she continued.
‘Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.’
‘Above all, don’t ever forget your worth – as I’ve told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough. Thank you for everything.’
When she first launched The Tig, Meghan explained that she came up with the blog’s unusual name after trying a wine called Tignanello, which is nicknamed ‘Tig’.

‘It was an ah-ha moment at its finest. For me, it became a ‘Tig’ moment – a moment of getting it,’ she wrote on her blog, explaining that the wine helped her truly understand what experts mean when they they are references ‘the body, legs, structure of wine’.
The lifestyle blog covered everything from food and travel to beauty, and many fans noted they would miss her inspiring posts that were often very personal.
For one of her final posts, Meghan shared a series of lifestyle quotes tagged under ‘Thoughts to live by’.
The actress appeared to have given an insight into her relationship philosophy, and at the top of the list was ‘overplanning kills magic’.
Her favorite life-inspiring quotes were billed ‘itty-bitty tidbits of wisdom we offer to lift daily spirits and inspire each of us to reach our full potential’.
