Down to earth Duchess! ‘Talented chef’ Meghan Markle to cook Thanksgiving dinner for Prince Harry, Archie and Doria Ragland – and they won’t have any staff present, source claims

  • Meghan Markle could take over cooking duties if they spend Thanksgiving in LA
  • Reports claim the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are considering break this month
  • Could be spending the American holiday with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be spending a low key Thanksgiving in LA with Meghan Markle taking over cooking duties, sources say.

Recent reports claim Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, are considering visiting Doria Ragland at her home in LA with baby Archie over the American holiday at the end of November.

And if the family do take a break in California, Meghan is reportedly likely to do the cooking, as the down-to-earth family opt against having staff present.

Speaking to Ok! magazine, royal reported Katie Nicholl said: ‘Meghan loves being in the kitchen.

‘She’s a talented chef and takes great pleasure in bringing people together over a family meal.

‘There won’t be any staff helping her – she’ll definitely be wearing the apron’.

However reports vary over where the family will spend Thanksgiving, with some claiming Meghan will cook for the family at Windsor Castle.

An insider told DailyMail.com this month: ‘From what I know, they aren’t coming here [to Los Angeles]. Doria is going there for the holiday [Thanksgiving].’

The source added: ‘They won’t be officially celebrating Thanksgiving because it isn’t a British holiday but Meghan is considering spending some of the day helping out at a homeless shelter in London.’

Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment by DailyMail.com.

The consideration of staying in the UK comes after Buckingham Palace confirmed a separate report that the couple will not spend Christmas at Sandringham with the Queen so they can recharge their batteries.

The Palace said: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month.

Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland.

‘This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.’

The Duchess spent last year’s holiday at her old home in Kensington Palace and reportedly made a traditional Thanksgiving meal for husband Prince Harry, 35, including a turkey.

This will be Harry and Meghan’s first holiday as parents, after they welcomed baby Archie in May.
