The Duchess of Sussex shared a throwback photo of Justin Trudeau hours after he was re-elected as Prime Minister.

The snap shows Meghan, 38, chatting to Mr Trudeau, 47, at the One Young World summit in Ottowa, Canada, in 2016.

Then starring in US legal drama Suits, Meghan appeared at the conference to deliver a speech to a group of global young leaders.

It comes as the Duchess prepares to attend the opening of this year’s One Young World summit at the Royal Albert Hall, in London, tonight.

Meghan will make a solo appearance at the One Young World (OYW) summit in London tonight. Today Meghan and Harry shared photos highlighting the Duchess’ long-standing relationship with OYW. She appeared at the 2016 summit alongside Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, pictured

The event brings together 2,000 young leaders from more than 190 countries.

The engagement marks the royal’s first appearance since she revealed she feels ‘vulnerable’ in an explosive ITV interview that aired on Sunday night.

Ahead of the summit, Meghan and Harry’s official Sussex Royal Instagram account shared photos highlighting the Duchess’ long-standing relationship with the One Young World (OYW) organisation. She first spoke at a OYW summit in 2014.

This year she will attend in her role as vice-president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which is partnering with One Young World to bring 53 young leaders to the summit event.

The Sussexes’ Instagram post read: ‘The Duchess of Sussex will attend @OneYoungWorld opening ceremony this evening to continue her support for this amazing collective of global youth ambassadors.

‘Her Royal Highness was a counsellor for OYW in Dublin in 2014 as well as in Ottawa in 2016.’

It continued: ‘Later this week The Duchess will hold a round table discussion with several of the OYW young leaders to address the issue of gender equity worldwide, and how we can all play our part to reach equality for all.’

The outing comes after Meghan’s emotional TV interview in which she admitted she had ‘no idea’ of the struggles she would deal with as a member of the royal family.

Prince Harry, who said his wife has faced ‘relentless propaganda’, also told the programme of the pressure he felt trying to ‘protect’ his family from unwanted media attention, because he doesn’t want a ‘repeat of the past.’

He also spoke about his relationship with his brother William, admitting that they are travelling on ‘different paths’ in what is the first public acceptance of a rift.

The searingly honest interviews come following months of controversy involving Meghan and Harry, who came under fire for their privacy demands over Archie’s christening, their use of private jets, and Meghan’s Wimbledon appearance when she banned fans from taking photos.
