Meghan Markle’s half-brother Thomas Jr appeals to Duchess to end bitter family feud 

With the Duchess of Sussex having cut contact with her father, Thomas Markle, an unlikely peacemaker has stepped forward.

Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, has made an impassioned plea for an end to their long-running family feud.

‘I have been a bad son and a bad brother to Meg,’ he admits from his home town of Grants Pass, Oregon.

‘I just want to put things right before it’s too late.’

The 53-year-old reveals that he’s been in contact with their father and apologised for publicly criticising Meghan.

‘I’ve had no business making things worse between him, Meghan and Harry, and I want us all, but especially them, to be a proper family and reconcile.’

He would love the Duchess to make amends with her estranged dad.

‘I hope Meghan gets in contact but my dad needs to prepare himself for it never happening. She did not get in contact after his heart attack.’

He adds: ‘But what she needs to remember is that she is only in Buckingham Palace with Harry because of her dad. He paid for her education and fancy clothes. He helped her become the exceptional woman she is and I beg her to recognise that.’

Thomas Markle Jr said: ‘I think it is wonderful. As long as he takes care of and loves Meg, he doesn’t have to do anything else . . . he looks like a genuinely good man — and he was in the services as well. He looks happy — and he could be a good guy for Meg’

Before Thomas Markle Sr wed Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, he was married for 11 years to his university sweetheart, Roslyn Loveless. They have two children: Thomas Markle Jr and Samantha, 55.

It’s not the first time that Thomas Jr, a window fitter, has tried to unite his divided family. This summer, he urged the Queen and Prince Charles to ‘step in’ and tell Prince Harry’s wife to ‘make amends’ to heal the rift with her father.

He had spoken of his joy after Meghan became engaged to Harry. ‘I couldn’t be happier for her,’ he said in 2017.
