She paired the dress with black ‘Deneuve’ ballerina-style flat shoes in black suede by another one of her favourite designers Aquazzura, with cutout detailing on the sides and a metallic heel.

She also wore her hair down – in loose waves, with  natural make up – which included her normal bronzed look.

Her dress is a more casual look after her last public outing at the Trooping of the Colours – where she wore a Givenchy ensemble, with a matching navy cocktail hat.

While for her first public appearance, with baby Archie in May, she wore a white belted blazer dress by British designer Grace Wales Bonner – and was praised by royal fans who called her ‘brave’ for wearing white so soon after the birth of the baby.

Speaking last year to Elle magazine, about creating Meghan’s evening gown for the wedding Stella said: ‘I think Meghan chose me for reasons other than just a beautiful dress – plenty of people can do that. She is not a difficult client to make look beautiful.

‘Amal called me and asked me to do it, as did Oprah. I look at that Amal dress, and it is made of sustainable viscose that took us three years to develop.’

Before the game last night The Duchess of Sussex shared a hug with her ‘cousin’ Boston Red Sox’s Mookie Betts ahead of their game against the New York Yankees in London.

Europe’s first ever Major League Baseball game was given the royal stamp of approval, and family history may have also been made as Meghan met award-winning outfielder Betts at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park tonight.

Meghan and Betts reportedly share ancestry dating back 150 years to America’s Deep South according to a U.S. genealogist who says both their origins can be traced back to Alabama relatives.

Betts told the Boston Globe last year: ‘I saw on television that they were getting married. But I had no idea we were related … That’s not something you expect to hear, but it’s interesting.’

An 1870 Federal Consensus reportedly shows that Joseph Betts is Mookie’s great-great grandfather and Jacob Betts – who lived two doors down from Joseph – is the great-great-great grandfather of Meghan.

Genealogist Jim McNiff, who uncovered the link, believes the chances of coincidence are minimal due to the scarcity of Betts’ in Madison County and the proximity of the neighbours.
