Meghan Markle ‘sparked row between Prince Harry and David Beckham over her suspicions that Victoria was leaking stories about their friendship’

  • Meghan and Victoria bonded over beauty tips ahead of her move to London
  • Not long after sharing hair and beauty advice some of these emerged in print

Prince Harry confronted David Beckham over suspicions Victoria was leaking stories about her friendship with Meghan, a source has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex dealt with the rumours ‘head on’ and contacted David directly, a source said.

‘Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified,’ they told The Sun.

The Duke of Sussex (pictured with Meghan on their visit to Canada House this month) dealt with the rumours ‘head on’ and contacted David Beckham directly, a source said

The friends agreed to put it behind them after the former footballer ‘put Harry right’, according to the source.

‘Afterwards, they got things back on track, but it took a few months.’

It came after the duchess and Victoria bonded over hair and beauty tips ahead of Meghan’s move to London following the former actress’s engagement to Harry in 2017.

It’s believed former Spice Girl Victoria befriended Meghan and gave her a list of ‘exclusive salons’ to visit, according to The Sun.

A Royal insider told the publication that the former Suits actress was ‘really pleased’ with her new found friendship and credited the fashion designer for helping her to settle into her new life in London.

The source said the pair ‘hit it from the off’ and were in ‘regular contact’ in the early days of Meghan and Harry’s relationship.

However the source added that not long after Victoria shared the beauty secrets, some of these emerged in print which made Meghan ‘furious’.

It is believed Harry, 35, and David, 44, got back to their former friendship after dealing with the matter yet it took a few months.

The Beckhams were seen at Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018 however the pair were absent from the exclusive ‘evening do’.

Meghan previously admitted to being unable to wear Victoria Beckham dresses despite loving the designs, explaining that the silhouette didn’t suit her ‘short’ torso.

However at the royal family’s annual Christmas church service at Sandringham last year, the duchess was dressed head-to-toe in the designer.

The pregnant duchess wore a navy wool-blend midi dress by the former Spice Girl, which neatly hugged her blossoming baby bump.

Speaking in the past interview, Meghan, who is 5ft 6ins, said she felt her waist wasn’t long enough to wear certain dresses.

Talking about how she chooses her outfits, she said at the time: ‘What I’m starting to learn is, even though things look amazing on the hanger, it doesn’t mean they’re going to look amazing on me.

‘For example I love Victoria Beckham dresses, but I don’t have the long torso to support that silhouette.’

MailOnline contacted David and Victoria Beckham’s representatives and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.
