Mel B’s highly-anticipated memoir Brutally Honest is set to hit stores next month.
And ahead of the book’s release, the former Spice Girl has spoken candidly in an interview with The Morning Show.
The 43-year-old appeared via video link from Los Angeles on Tuesday’s edition of the program, where she talked openly about her forthcoming tome.

‘I think for me it was something I had to do,’ Mel explained, calling the process ‘therapeutic and cathartic’.
‘I got one of my really good friends, Louise (Gannon), who’s a great writer, to write it with me and she lived with me more or less for the whole of last year to really get into my mindset,’ the singer stated.
She added: ‘It’s a thing I just had to do, even if it wasn’t published. I was going to do it for me anyway, and for my girls (her three daughters).

Mel has lived an interesting and varied life, first bursting onto the scene with The Spice Girls back in the mid 1990s.
The Leeds-born star was just 20 years old when the group had their first number one smash, Wannabe.

Mel married Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1998, and their daughter, Phoenix, was born the following year.
The pair split in 2000, and the singer went on to have a second daughter, Angel, whose father is Eddie Murphy.
From 2007 until 2017, Mel was married to Stephen Belafonte, with whom she shares a daughter named Madison.
