Mel C wears Liverpool shirt at Spice Girls gig to celebrate her team’s Champions League win

Sporty Spice Mel C sends fans wild as she takes to the stage in a Liverpool shirt at latest Spice Girls gig to celebrate her team’s Champions League victory

She couldn’t watch the match as her duties lay on stage with the rest of the Spice Girls on Saturday night.

But Mel C was sure to support her football team, Liverpool, in their efforts against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League by belting out Wannabe in a red team shirt during the girl group’s Manchester gig.

Sporty Spice, as she is known, lived up to her nickname when she appeared on the stage at the Etihad Stadium to perform the band’s debut smash single in the cropped shirt, which showed off her toned midriff.

Liverpool were crowned kings of Europe for the first time since 2005 after super-sub Divock Origi and Egyptian star Mo Salah hammered home to beat Tottenham in Madrid on Saturday.

The Belgian, who came on as a substitute with half an hour to go, sealed the victory when he drove a low shot into the right hand corner on the 87th minute after Spurs failed to clear a corner whipped in by James Milner.

A third win over Spurs this season has landed them the biggest prize in club football for the sixth time in the club’s history, which will surely make up for the loss of the Premier League title in May to Manchester City.

The all-English final was scrappy for most of the 90 minutes, with both teams playing well-below their best and struggling to string passes together despite having an equal share of possession.
