Mel Greig continues to fuel rumours she’s heading to MAFS as she cries over being single

Shes rumoured to be heading onto the next season of Married At First Sight, after quitting her radio job to move back to Sydney to work on a new ‘project.’

And on Tuesday, Mel Greig continued to fuel the talk when she appeared on her Wave FM radio show for the last time, breaking down in tears.

The 35-year-old revealed she was putting her ‘health and happiness first’ by moving, and shared her heartache at being single, saying she’s ‘isolated’ and alone.

‘I don’t have a family or partner, it’s just me’: Mel Greig continues to fuel rumours she’s heading to MAFS as she breaks down in tears over being single and feeling ‘isolated’

‘So you all know when I moved to the Illawarra, I was married, about to have babies, that didn’t eventuate, divorced, became quite isolated,’ Mel said, who will be relocating to Sydney from Wollongong.

‘The Illawarra is amazing, I love this place and have amazing friends here, but when you get up everyday at 3.20am, it takes its toll.’

‘This was a fresh start and it just didn’t go to plan in the sense of what I pictured. That little family, going to nippers in a beautiful coastal town.’

‘I don’t have a family, I don’t have a partner, it’s just me,’ Mel said.

Referring to her pet dog Mia, Mel joked: ‘Mia can’t get into half the restaurants.’

She added that part of the reason she was leaving her radio job was because her endometriosis has been playing up with the early starts.

The Illawarra Mercury reported on Monday that Mel had resigned from her radio gig at Wave FM for an ‘exciting’ new opportunity.

With some fans speculating she could go on MAFS, Mel refused to confirm if her new gig was on reality TV or a hosting role, simply referring to it as a ‘new challenge.’

‘I’m going there basically with an open plate and waiting for fate to throw things on it,’ she said.

She also hinted about MAFS in her column for Yahoo7 Be.

‘I’m moving back to Sydney because I’m single, childless and that’s where the opportunities are for me,’ wrote the star, who has been based in Wollongong for the last three years.

‘Every single friend I have in the Illawarra is either married or has children, majority are both and I honestly couldn’t be happier for them, but it does make you feel like the odd one out.’

Filming for Married At First Sight is set to kick off in Sydney in late August, which would coincide with the timing of Mel’s mystery ‘project.’

MAFS producers have already reached out to several celebrities about a potential spot on the highly-anticipated sixth season, including The Bachelorette’s Michael Turnbull, ‘world’s hottest grandma’ Gina Stewart, and TV psychic Harry T.
