Melania Trump was nicknamed ‘Rapunzel’ because she rarely left the White House

Melania Trump was nicknamed ‘Rapunzel’ because she rarely left ‘her tower, aka the White House residence,’ former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham wrote in her upcoming memoir.

In the excerpt from the memoir ‘I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw at the Trump White House,’ she said the Secret Service agents looked forward to working with Melania and requested to be on her detail because it gave them more time with their families, The Independent reported.

Grisham said she stayed in the White House with her parents and son Baron and worked on an photo album that Grisham described was like a second child to her.

She claimed Melania spent two hours recreating a ribbon cutting for the White House tennis pavilion because she did not get the right shot in previous attempts.

During the January 6 Capitol riot, Grisham claimed that Melania worked on a photo shoot of a rug, according to The Independent.

Melania was nicknamed ‘Rapunzel’ by Secret Service because she stayed in the White House, Grisham claimed in her book, which also compared the ex-first lady to ‘the doomed French queen’ Marie Antoinette – ‘Dismissive. Defeated. Detached’

During the January 6 Capitol riot – shortly after MAGA rioters breached the buidling – Grisham said she sent Melania a text asking if she wanted to condemn violent demonstrations, she wrote in an excerpt obtained by Politico.

‘Do you want to tweet that peaceful protests are the right of every American, but there is no place for lawlessness and violence?’ Grisham asked.

‘No.’ Melania replied a minute later, according to the book.

Grisham said the response ‘broke’ her, and she quit the White House soon after in Capitol riot.

In another excerpt from Grisham’s book, Melania’s former aide claimed the ex-First Lady purposely walked arm-in-arm with a handsome military man as her escort to the 2018 State of the Union after allegations surfaced that Donald paid Stormy Daniels hush money.

Melania said she needed help because the Capitol building’s floors were too slippery.

‘I laughed to myself because I’d seen the woman navigate dirt roads in her heels,’ Grisham said, according to The Independent.

‘Rapunzel’ – as Grisham claimed the Secret Service called Melania – is just the latest nickname of someone in Trump’s family to surface ahead of the former aide’s October 5 release,

The book was obtained by The New York Times and The Washington Post ahead of its publication.

Grisham also compared the ex-first lady to ‘the doomed French queen’ Marie Antoinette – ‘Dismissive. Defeated. Detached.’

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Melania and White House aides called Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump ‘the interns’ because they were ‘obnoxious know-it-alls,’ and Kushner was like ‘Rasputin in a slim-fitting suit.’

She claimed in her book that Ivanka and Jared meddled and muddied the early response to the coronavirus pandemic and wrote that Kushner’s ‘arrogance and presumption had grown over the years, and he threw his power about with absolutely no shame.’

‘He was Rasputin in a slim-fitting suit,’ she wrote of Trump’s son-in-law, comparing him to the mystical and influential advisor to Czar Nicholas II of Russia before the 1917 revolution.

‘When I worked for the first lady in the East Wing, we had all come to call Jared and Ivanka “the interns” because they represented in our minds obnoxious, entitled know-it-alls,’ Grisham wrote.

‘Mrs. Trump found that nickname amusing and occasionally used it herself. Now, during one of the most important crises to hit the country in a century, the interns were behaving true to form.

‘It was another example of Jared sticking his nose into things that weren’t his expertise.’

The Trump family has since lashed out at Grisham and said she was ‘angry and bitter’ after breaking up with a fellow Trump staffer and dismissed the claims in her tell-all because he said she was ‘seldom relied upon’ at the White House.

‘Stephanie didn’t have what it takes and that was obvious from the beginning. She became very angry and bitter after her break-up and as time went on she was seldom relied upon, or even thought about,’ Trump said through a spokesperson.

He was referring to former White House aide Max Miller, who’s now running for Congress in Ohio.

According to the book, Trump once asked Miller if Grisham was ‘good in bed.’

The statement continued, ‘She had big problems and we felt that she should work out those problems for herself. Now, like everyone else, she gets paid by a radical left-leaning publisher to say bad and untrue things.’

The memoir’s publisher, HarperCollins, is one of the largest English-language publishing companies in the world. Campaign finance records reveal the group is far from ‘radical left,’ donating nearly $90,000 in 2019 to the Senate Conservatives Fund and more than $6,000 to Tom Cottom’s (R-AR) Senate campaign. HarperCollins donated around $1,000 to Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) the same year.
