A young boy watched on as his mother was stabbed to death by her ex-husband in a suspected murder-suicide.
The 36-year-old woman’s body was found in a white Audi SUV parked outside a block of flats on Mt Pleasant Road in Nunawading, Melbourne, at about 6pm on Saturday.
Her estranged husband, 40, was found dead outside the car.
The man stabbed the woman as she sat in the car before he died nearby shortly after, according to Nine.

A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the case is now with the coroner.
The child, believed to be eight years old, was not physically harmed.
A neighbour told The Age the husband and wife had recently separated.
‘They [lived] here about ten years ago. They bought a house in Blackburn and had this place rented out. Then recently they had separated and he had moved back in last Sunday,’ the man said.
A police spokesman said on Saturday night they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

The incident sent shock waves through the small community after neighbours saw a series of police and ambulance vehicles appear at the property.
‘It’s terrible. I’ve lived here for 25 years… we are very much a quiet little community, particularly at our end of the street,’ one resident told The Age.
‘The street itself is normally very quiet. Nothing normally happens in this street and it’s a bit of a shock, as such,’ another neighbour said.

The complex has been taped off by police and volunteers from the SES and forensic officers were combing the area late on Saturday night.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
