A supermarket worker has allegedly stabbed her colleague on the shop floor in from of dozens of horrified customers.

The two women got into an argument in the bakery section of a CostCo store in Epping, in Melbourne, about 1.15pm on Thursday.

One of the woman then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the other the the upper body.

‘I heard a scream and there was a lady that got stabbed by another person, looked like another person working in the same department, in the bakery section,’ witness Denis Walter told 3AW radio.

‘I heard the screams and went over and checked it out and saw the staff members come over… I saw them carry the knife away as well.’ 

The 45-year-old victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was rushed to the Northern Hospital in a stable condition.

Another woman was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries.
