Melbourne Cyclist smashes car windscreen in rage attack

This is the smiling cyclist police want to speak to after a car windscreen was smashed in a shocking road rage attack against a single mother.

The woman, named Erin, was doing school pickup and was left covered in glass fragments and a cut face after a terrifying road rage incident with a bike rider.

The mother is believed to have opened her car door to get out of the parked car.

However, she claims she quickly shut it again when she saw the cyclist approaching in Melbourne’s north.

‘I have to pick up my kids, look what you did to my car,’ the single mother shouts at the cyclist from her car.

The grinning cyclist with a ginger beard responded: ‘You nearly ran me off my bike.’

Victoria Police said the cyclist made a remark before he punched the car bonnet and smashed the windscreen with a closed fist.

Shaken by what happened, the mother – who was covered in shattered glass fragments – followed the cyclist as he rode away.

With cuts to her face, Erin filmed the confrontation with the bike rider who did not seem phased by what happened.

Grinning while the driver yelled at him from her car window, the orange bearded cyclist refused to tell Erin his name, 9 News reported.

‘To cycle off when like a mother is in her car waiting for her kids, it’s just so irresponsible and he really could have hurt something,’ she told the publication.

Erin was forced to pay $390 to fix the windscreen after the horrifying attack on February 7 at about 3.35pm in Ascot Vale.

Police believed the man is aged in his 30s and was wearing a blue helmet, black T-shirt and blue shorts at the time of the road rage attack.

The man was riding a black road bike with a white seat and blue water bottle holder.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.
