A motorist with a fake number plate has been caught out after a spelling error was spotted by police.

The obviously fake number plate on a Holden Berlina was seen by police in Wyndham, south-west Melbourne on Friday.

‘Victoria – the edgucation state,’ the plate read.

‘Criminal mastermind… not quite!’ the post read.

‘We gave him an 8/10 for his colouring in skills, a 2/10 for his spelling ability and an additional charge for court.

Social media users also trolled the driver over the fake plate. 

‘Well that plate really sums up the state of our education system in Victoria,’ one person wrote.

‘That’s priceless!’ wrote another.

‘This bloke needs an edgucation,’ another said.
